Change for Kids is assembling its 2015 TCS New York City Marathon Team and we want you!

On November 1st, run alongside thousands of athletes from across the globe while making a huge difference for kids right here in NYC. You'll bring essential programs and resources in fitness, nutrition, art, music and literacy to more than 3,000 public elementary school students in low-income communities.

P.S. 160 needs basic classroom art supplies: construction paper, poster board, drawing paper, scrap paper, water colors, tempera paints, markers, crayons, colored pencils, regular pencils, sharpies, paintbrushes, erasers, scissors, paste, glue, glitter, stickers, and any other fun supplies you can think of that young artists would appreciate.

P.S. 15 is kicking off their first-ever Summer Program! Come volunteer your time and skills to help make July and August fun and engaging for P.S. 15 students. We welcome volunteers to help lead and/or support activities such as:

• Reading books with students
• Dance and theater workshops
• Athletic games and sports including basketball, kickball, and soccer
• Creative writing exercises
• Technology projects in Word, PowerPoint, and Scratch
• Arts and crafts projects
• Organizing the book room

There are two daily shifts at the Summer Program: 8:50-11:20 AM and 1:50-5:00 PM. Please let us know which shift you prefer in the Questions & Comments section of the form below. Please also note that all volunteers must be fingerprinted by the Department of Education before participating in this opportunity. CFK will provide information about where and how to get fingerprinted.

On Friday, July 31st, from 5:30-7:30 PM, Senior Master Instructor, Stacey Griffith led the 5th annual Ride for Kids at SoulCycle Bridgehampton. The event was hosted by Louise Phillips Forbes and raised $20,000 which will fund an entire program at one of our partner schools.

Join us from 9 AM - 12 PM to help paint two murals at P.S. 15. The murals are part of Groundswell's Summer Leadership Institute, which will create murals in 7 neighborhoods throughout the city this summer. P.S. 15's murals will help inspire students and beautify their playground.

Kick off the summer from 11 AM - 3 PM with an end-of-year carnival and dance festival at Brooklyn Landmark. Help serve food, paint faces, or get in on the dancing and fun with Brooklyn Landmark students and their families. You'll be helping everyone celebrate a year of amazing achievement!

Join the Kindergarten students at P.S. 15 on the third Friday of every month from 10:00-11:00 AM for a morning of reading and fun! You'll read aloud to the whole class or to a small group of students, then engage them in a brief conversation about what you've read together. They also developed a deep and meaningful relationship with the child they mentored while helping him or her master the English language.

On Friday, February 21st, 500 guests danced the night away in their finest to music by the East Coast Band while enjoying specialty cocktails, open bar and light dessert. Together, we raised $88,000 for Brooklyn Landmark, our newest partner school.

On November 14, 2013 CFK hosted its new annual benefit, Super Chefs. 5 master chefs created 5 singular tastings in honor of the current, 5 partner schools. It was a delicious evening that raised $219,000 for our 2,500 under-privileged NYC elementary school students.

CFK friends and fans enjoyed epic ping-pong, open bar, lots of hors d’oeuvres and a silent auction at TopSpin 2013 at the Metropolitan Pavilion on November 6, 2013 in support of Brooklyn Landmark Elementary.

Our runners couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day to run the ING New York City Marathon on November 3—cool temperatures, partly sunny, not too much wind. Our team was so enthusiastic, some of whom had been holding out since last year to run for Change for Kids. Our thanks to Maureen Ford, Pat Daly, Suraj Patel, Viral Patel, Courtney Raneri, Brad Zanoni, Ken Davidoff and Alex Porter. Together, these athletes have raised more than $25,000 for the students in our partner schools.

Game Night at Lucky Strike on Tuesday, October 23rd for Change for Kids' signature annual event featured bowling, ping pong, billiards, open bar and dinner. Proceeds directly benefited students at our five under-resourced NYC public elementary school partners.

CFK spins and kids win: On August 19, 2011, we teamed up with SoulCycle to kick another school year into gear at the third annual Ride for Kids. CFK Board member and fabulous SoulCycle instructor Stacey Griffith led an intense 60-minute indoor-cycling class followed by summer cocktails on the studio deck.
