P.S. 6X

P.S. 6X

West Farms, Bronx

In a community where 28% of families live on less than $15,000 a year, P.S. 6—the Lighthouse School—is a “Beacon in the Bronx.” Although located in a historically impoverished section of the city, education continues to be a guiding light for families to improve their circumstances. A graduate of NYC public schools, Principal Tiawana Perez strives to give her students the commitment and love shown to her in the same school system many years ago. Principal Perez is partnering with CFK to meet the social, emotional and academic needs of her students and advance family engagement. She believes that it truly takes a village to educate students—and collaboration between stakeholders is key. We are honored to team up with P.S. 6X and support the evolving needs of the schools’ resilient community.
