We've got our all-star CFK'ers eager for November to arrive. Support Team CFK here.
Running is one of my passions - I have run 5 marathons in the past 4 years. I have never run the New York City marathon and am thrilled to support this wonderful organization while doing something I love. I will be running to provide fitness and nutritional instruction for 200 kids in K-3rd grade at P.S. 81 in Brooklyn. 100% of the funds I raise will help these students build the healthy living skills they need to limit their risk of obesity and asthma. I joined Change for Kids Junior Council one year ago because I wanted the opportunity to give back and provide opportunities to those kids of New York City in need of a more educational and healthy lifestyle. I have never run a marathon myself but I am an avid athlete who wants to help give the 2nd grade students at P.S. 73 in the South Bronx a year of quality fitness and nutritional instruction to help them towards a healthier lifestyle. Change For Kids funds music, sports, and art programs at select NYC public schools when state funding falls short. I am running the NYC Marathon (my first) to raise money for one year of 1st and 2nd grade PE and nutrition classes at the CFK partner school P.S. 73 (South Bronx). Together, we can give 300 kids the vital health programs we take for granted. Click here to go to my fundraising page and help support this great cause!
Like many others, running a marathon has always been at the top of my bucket list. This November I will be lucky enough to check off this lifetime goal, as I partner up with Change for Kids and P.S. 73 for the 2013 New York Marathon. I am dedicated and ready for this adventure - both in my training regimen and in helping to raise funds for 898 students in the South Bronx. P.S. 73 is located in lowest economic congressional district in the Nation. The funds we raise will help to educate students through fitness and nutrition classes, empowering them to make healthy life decisions. As a member of the CFK Board of Directors and former chairman for the past four years. I strongly believe in the organization's mission of creating inspiring learning environments that enable students to discover their unique strengths and develop the confidence to achieve. I am running on Team CFK to help transform CFK partner schools into ones that I'd be proud to send my children, Douglas, 8, and Kenneth, 5, to.
I've always wanted to run a marathon (last year I tried...) so hopefully this year will be the year. I'm training to run the New York City Marathon on November 3, and it's for a wonderful cause. Please help me raise money for this terrific organization. Click here to check out my fundraising page. 100% of funds donated will go towards provinding Healthy Living programming at P.S. 73 in the South Bronx.
As an ER doctor I see kids daily that are overweight and unhealthy. While I try to spend time with them educating them on healthy living and diet I usually don't have the time during my short visit to do so thoroughly. I am excited to raise money for CFK to help educate these same children about nutrition and a healthy lifestyle while simultaneously getting in better shape myself!
