Change Team FAQ's
Change Team -- The Basics
What is a Change Team?
A Change Team is a group of socially conscious community members, who together provide a CFK partner school with the diverse resources its students need to thrive. It's a team of individuals (family and friends), socially responsible corporations and foundations, college and high school students, government officials, teachers, school administrators and partner service organizations. Everyone brings their unique strengths to the team - valuable time and talents, vital supplies and needed funds - building a response team greater than the sum of its parts.
Simply put: it's a team dedicated to improving the quality of education for underprivileged students, one school at a time.
How does the CFK Change Team Model work?
It's a five step process:
Step 1. Recruit a partner school with a fantastic leader
Step 2. Recognize the needs of an under-resourced NYC elementary school
Step 3. Rally a broad range of community support (that's you!)
Step 4. Respond to the unmet needs of the school
Step 5. Report on the school's progress
Who's on the Team?
Community Members • Corporate Partners • School Administrators • Government Officials • Parents and Families • CFK Leadership • Foundations • Sister High School & Colleges
Corporate and Foundation Partners
Change Team Corporate and Foundation partnerships take a direct, dynamic approach to making a positive difference in the communities in which they operate. They believe, like we do, that giving back through program funding and service is a fulfilling and empowering experience.
What are the Change Team sponsorship options?
A Change Team is led by one Lead School Partner and multiple Program Sponsors. The number of Program Sponsors as well as the funding level of the Lead School Partner are determined by the amount and type of programming provided each school year.
What kind of opportunities will my employees have to get involved?
Through actionable charity, corporations experience the dual benefit of seeing their funds put to good use while experiencing the immediate impact by taking part in engaging volunteer opportunities throughout the year. Particular attention is given to crafting customized team-building opportunities that encourage collaboration, boost employee moral and increase community presence as a socially conscious corporation.

Individuals
Individuals who join a Change Team recognize that by coming together they can make a greater, more lasting impact in their community. They desire to be a part of something bigger than themselves and find value in developing rewarding personal connections with their school and fellow Change Team members.
What are the Change Team membership options?
Annual Membership as a Change Team member is gained through a $100 yearly membership fee (with 100% going towards programming). Each Change Team also has an enhanced membership option, the school's Principal's Circle: a major donor initiative, granting access to school leadership through coordinated breakfasts and opportunities to engage as a core fundraiser for the school.
What are the associated general membership benefits?
All members enjoy year-round benefits: priority volunteer registration, access to fun social events, and the ability to transform the lives of students at their partner school. We are puposeful in providing an array of opportunities for individuals to give back, to the capactiy they are able and willing.
Sounds great! How do I join the Change Team?
CFK is actively recruiting founding members for both Team 73 and Team 81. Join the movement in transforming these two partner schools!

Sister Colleges and High Schools
College and high school students have intense creative power and a drive to produce lasting change, making them ideal Change Team members. They are vital to the success of many CFK programs, providing financial and, in particular, dedicated service support to our schools.
How do I get involved with a Change Team?
Each Change Team has a sister college and sister high school Change Club. A Change Club is a self-governing, student-led organization dedicated to raising on-campus awareness of CFK through volunteer and outreach efforts. Change Teams and Change Clubs go hand in hand; they're like cookies and milk, like Bieber and his Beliebers. By becoming a member of your school's Change Club, you can take part in all the fun of a Change Team.
Cool. What does a Change Club do exactly?
Throughout the school year, each college and high school Change Club participates in ongoing volunteer activities at its sister school, completes one group service day, and holds one fundraising drive. Remember, though, Change Clubs are run by you -- our goal is simply to empower you to determine your Club's unique contributions to the Team and its CFK partner school.
Is there a Change Club at my school?
You'd have to check that out for yourself. If you're a college student, this may mean contacting your student activities or service center. If you're in high school, you may have to speak with an administrator at your school.
What if my school doesn't have a Change Club?
You can start one! Chartering a Change Club is an excellent opportunity for you to gain valuable leadership experience while creating a positive change in your community. We've created a Change Club Charter Kit to help you recruit new members, run effective meetings, and organize successful fundraisers, making it easy for you to make a difference.
